March of Dimes Nominates Snell & Wilmer Attorney Elizabeth Brereton to Board of Directors

SALT LAKE CITY - Nov. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce Salt Lake City attorney Elizabeth M. Brereton has been nominated to the March of Dimes Utah Market Board.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With offices nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.

The Utah Market Board is charged with education, program delivery and revenue generation for the state. As a member of the board of directors, Brereton will serve a term of three years, with an opportunity to add a second term.

At Snell & Wilmer, Brereton's practice is concentrated in public utility regulation, energy and environmental law including issues surrounding public utility rate cases, energy resource procurement, nuclear generation and development, state and federal permitting, electric transmission regulation, mineral development and state regulations affecting the oil and gas industry. She advises clients on the regulatory process, environmental liabilities, critical infrastructure security and developing internal compliance strategies.

Brereton's background as a regulator, and her experience with regulatory agencies, allows her to help her clients navigate complex regulatory processes and develop effective litigation strategies. In addition, she has a unique perspective on developing and implementing cyber security best practices due to her past focus on electric grid cyber security. Brereton received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her J.D. from Emory University School of Law.
