 New England's Oldest Science Fiction Convention Brings Magic and Technology to BostonBoskone 54 Announces its Featured Convention Guests for February 2017!
By: Boskone BOSTON - Nov. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- The New England Science Fiction Association (NESFA) is pleased to announce the return of their annual science fiction and fantasy convention, which will take place at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston, MA from February 17-19, 2017.
Boskone welcomes Guest of Honor Brandon Sanderson, author of the acclaimed Mistborn series. Their full slate of Featured Guests also includes Official Artist Dave Seeley, Special Guest Maryelizabeth Yturralde, Featured Filkers The Fabulous Lorraine Garland & Lojo Russo, Hal Clement Science Speaker Milton Davis, and NESFA Press Guest Ken MacLeod. Whether one is a lover or creator of books, movies, music or art, Boskone has something for everyone, celebrating and supporting both fans and professionals. Boskone's unique program offers a variety of science, science fiction and fantasy panels, talks, discussions, demos, and workshops led by authors, artists, publishers, editors, agents, fans, educators, and scientists. Featuring diverse program events expected of a big convention, Boskone maintains an intimate and interactive atmosphere, making it one of New England's favorite conventions for fans and pros alike. Program participants include Elizabeth Bear, Alan Beck, Bruce Coville, Christopher Golden, Scott Lynch, Tamora Pierce, Karl Schroeder, Charles Stross, Christine Taylor-Butler, Paul Tremblay, Jo Walton, Jane Yolen and more! More than 1,100 fans and professionals will be coming together for a weekend filled with fun and educational panels, readings, kids activities, demos, small-group discussions, filksinging, videos, games, art, and whatever else a geeky heart could desire. Boskone is New England's longest-running science fiction convention, the very first having happened in 1941. Programming starts on Friday, February 17, 2017 with free programming available to the public on Friday from 2:00-6:00 pm.
