Follow on Google News | Energy from Waste and the Circular Economy - New Interview Released with Westminster City CouncilSMi Group release new interview with Waste Service Manager, Jarno Stet, Ahead of his Keynote at the 9th Annual Energy from Waste Conference next month.
By: SMi Group Providing a local authority perspective, Jarno will discuss the role of Energy from Waste in the circular economy and offer insight on its impact to Westminster City Council. Strategic guidance will also be given on enhancing value for money services that contribute towards the circular economy. In the run up to his presentation, SMi Group caught up with Jarno to discuss industry developments and his upcoming talk. When asked about the EU's initiative surrounding the circular economy and what changes to expect within the industry he said: "We need to make the most of the resources we have however we also have to be realistic. There will always be significant volumes of waste left which can't be recycled. This includes the residues and by-products from sorting and recycling. The age old argument that EFW crowds out recycling is rather tiring and has never been proven. EFW compliments the Circular Economy Package beautifully. It allows for material recovery and energy recovery from unrecyclable (residual) waste. Lack of EFW capacity can hinder recycling processes due to a lack of cost effective outlets for its residues. " "EFW needs to remain at the forefront of residual waste treatment by recovering the maximum in energy (not just electricity) The full interview is available to read in the event download centre at http://www.smi- SMi's 9th annual conference: Energy from Waste 8th - 9th December 2016 Holiday Inn Kensington Forum, London UK www.efw-event.com ---END --- Contact Information: For media enquiries, contact Teri Arri on +44 (0)20 7827 6162 or email tarri@smi-online.co.uk To register visit the website at www.efw-event.com or contact Andrew Gibbons on Tel: +44 (0)20 7827 6156 / Email: agibbons@smi- About SMi Group Established since 1993, the SMi Group is a global event-production company that specializes in Business-to- End
