Grammy-Nominated Songwriter, Alvin Garrett, Releases Uplifting Alzheimer's Disease Anthem

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Nov. 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter/musician, Alvin Garrett, and The Carolinas Music Group is pleased to announce the release of "I Know It's You", a song to encourage the families and caregivers of those affected by Alzheimer's disease. "I Know It's You", co-written by American Idol winner, Ruben Studdard, is being released this month in conjunction with National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month and National Family Caregivers Month.

"There's an overwhelming need for comfort and emotional healing for millions of caregivers fighting alongside the 47 million people living with this disease", says Garrett, who has watched family and friends deal with the emotional, physical, and financial toil of caring for a loved one.  According to The Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org), 59% of Alzheimer's caregivers rate their emotional stress as "high" or "very high", and 40% of family caregivers suffer from depression.

"I Know It's You", written from the point-of-view of the Alzheimer's patient, speaks on behalf of those who can no longer speak for themselves.  It is Garrett's hope that families and caregivers will find solace in the chorus, which declares, "Though I cannot say that I know your name, the memories in my heart never fade. I know it's you."
