ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Oct. 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Rochester-based crime novelist Frank De Blase has won his fourth consecutive Best Local Author award in the voting for the 2016 Best of Rochester, sponsored by the Rochester City Newspaper. Winners were selected by the newpaper's readers.

"To be recognized by the residents of Rochester as their best local author is such an honor," said De Blase. "I proudly call this city my home and I am grateful for the opportunity to represent it in my work."

Down & Out Books has published three of De Blase's books, a short story collection and two Frankie Valentine mysteries, one of which was published earlier this year, A Cougar's Kiss.

Meet the author …

Frank De Blase likes the twist in the plot and the twist of the knife. He takes delight in chaos, entropy, and the wrong turns his characters make. His stories are pure pulp noir told in a language that is alliterated, obliterated, and visceral. He's madly in love with the femme fatale.

De Blase writes as a music critic every week for Rochester City Newspaper, contributes frequently to Crimespree Magazine, writes a monthly column for Skin & Ink Magazine, and photographs pin-up models for several men's magazines. He likes to sing the blues.

He lives in Rochester with his wife Deborah and two cats, Rocco and Dixie.
