| College of Business Administration to Host Nordson Corporation's Jerry Torma at GMC Speaker SeriesBy: Kent State College of Business Administration Each attendee will receive a copy of Torma's presentation to take home. "Jerry Torma is one of the most engaging, dynamic speakers I have ever listened to," said Bob Hisrich, Ph.D., associate dean for graduate and international programs at Kent State's College of Business Administration. "Those in attendance at this event will learn what it's like to engage in international business and gain a better understanding on the importance of culture for business professionals." The Global Management Center (GMC) at Kent State University advances international business education opportunities and global research through industry partnerships and provides an international stage for students, faculty and the public to learn as well as engage in best global business practices. Prior to joining Nordson, Torma was a foreign exchange student at the University of Tel-Aviv, Israel and a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Iran. He was recruited to Nordson Corporation to help continue the globalization of the company in 1984. Since then, he has held a number of International Human Resource positions. Torma has traveled to 62 Nordson countries and has been involved in the establishment of 25 international Nordson Subsidiaries. In addition, he developed the Nordson International Business Council and he is a member of the Lorain County Community College Business Advisory Committee. Torma holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Akron and an International MBA from Baldwin Wallace University. Topics that Torma will speak on include globalization of business and the Cultural Iceberg Model. He will also compare the cultures of Brazil, China and Germany.
