Dr. Paul Raskauskas Receives 2016 Best of Naples Award

NAPLES, Fla. - Oct. 17, 2016 - PRLog -- Ophthalmologist Paul A. Raskauskas, M.D. has been selected for the 2016 Best of Naples Award in the Physicians category by the Naples Award Program.

Dr. Raskauskas is a specialist in diseases of the retina and vitreous with Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida with offices in Naples, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Port Charlotte.

He has a particular interest in studying Geographic Atrophy, a type of Age-Related Macular Degeneration.  He currently is the principal investigator for several clinical trials and has been a part of dozens of pivotal clinical trials that have led to U.S. Food & Drug Administration approval of new therapies to fight retina or vitreous diseases.

Dr. Raskauskas received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Duke University in Durham, N.C., and completed a residency in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.  After his residency, he completed a fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami.
