The Bank of Fincastle Appoints New Chairman of the Board

The Bank of Fincastle has named George Edwin "Ed" Holt, III as Chairman of the Board, Cheryl Dillon as Treasury Services Officer and Teresa Fridley as Branch Manager.

FINCASTLE, Va. - Sept. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- The Bank of Fincastle announced that George Edwin "Ed" Holt, III has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective immediately.

"It is with great pleasure that I announce Ed Holt and our next Chairman of the Board of The Bank of Fincastle," said Scott Steele, President and CEO. "He has proven to be a leader among our board, an integral part of our team, active in the community and highly qualified to lead our board moving forward."

Holt joined the Board of Directors in 2015 and is a seventh generation Botetourt County resident and the third generation to serve as a member of The Bank of Fincastle Board of Directors. His grandfather, Robert Stoner was president of The Bank of Fincastle and the author of "A Seed-Bed of the Republic," a history of early Botetourt County.

A graduate of William & Mary, Holt obtained both B.A and M.B.A degrees. His career includes top positions with Dominion Bankshares, CSX Transportation, Martin Marietta Materials and the RailCar, LTD division of Progress Rail. Holt achieved a certificate in Railroad Market Planning and Analysis from Princeton University and founded RailCar Interchange, Inc. in 2004, where he currently serves as president.

As an active citizen of the Botetourt community, Holt is on the board of the Botetourt County Historical Society and Missio International, which supports the ministries of Mission Link International in Romania.  He is also a member of the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce, Walk to Emmaus and Bible Study Fellowship. He and his wife Betty reside in Daleville.

Cheryl Dillon has been promoted to Treasury Services Officer in The Bank of Fincastle's Commercial Lending Department.  Dillon assumes responsibility for the Bank's Treasury Management Services including commercial deposit accounts, business debit and credit cards, remote deposit capture, merchant services, lockbox, working capital lines of credit and asset based lending. Dillon retired from Wells Fargo after 30 years and joined The Bank of Fincastle as Branch Manager in 2014. She is a graduate of Virginia Western Community College and has been a resident of Botetourt County for more than 30 years.

Teresa Fridley has joined The Bank of Fincastle as Branch Manager in the Daleville office. Fridley has more than 32 years of banking experience, most recently with Bank of Botetourt in Loan Administration.  Previously Fridley held management positions with BB&T as Quality Management Officer and Wachovia/Wells Fargo. She attended Virginia Western Community College and completed The Graduate School of Banking at Furman University.  A native of Botetourt County, Fridley currently resides in Daleville.
