Lois Moses' Hard Hitting Drama Unearths Untold Truths About the Lives of Dr. ML & Coretta Scott King

First World Theatre Ensemble Launches Its Season of I BELIEVE with the World Premiere of "Say That He Had More Than A Dream"

PHILADELPHIA - Sept. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- First World Theatre Ensemble presents the World Premiere of Lois Moses' "Say That He Had More Than A Dream" directed by Zuhairah McGill and choreography by Charles Tyson, Jr. September 30 through October 9, 2016. Showtimes are 8:00pm Fridays and Saturdays and 3:00pm on Sundays at CEC - Meeting House Theater located 3500 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. General admission is $25, Seniors $18, Students $15 and group rates are available.

What happens when the concept of Sankofa and a lawyer "artivist" intersect on First World's stage at a time when art and life are blurred lines?

Unveiling an investigation, the fact based "Say That He Had More Than A Dream" moves us beyond the mountaintop as the play speaks to Dr. King's transformation and gives us another lens through which to view the lives of Dr. Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King. Untold truths unfold from the Poor People's Campaign to the Hoover administration's four year harassment of Mrs. King. A multimedia of spoken word, song, dance, music, visuals and powerful acting tell this compelling story.

"What I want the audience to leave with… is an artistic and experiential proclamation and reformation of the life of Dr. King. And, I charge them (the audience) to be better, not bitter." -Lois Moses. The cast stars Ron Lee Jones, Sara Osi Scott, Terrell "T" Green, Nastassja Baset, Nicole Stacie, Sanchel Brown, Karen Smith and Lois Moses.

Lois Moses, Esq, a native of Philadelphia, is an author, poet, actress, lawyer, clinician and filmmaker. Lois has toured and performed extensively throughout the United States with Kuntu Repertory Theater and the National Black Author's Tour in addition to performing an off-Broadway run of Lady of Fadima. As a poet, she has self-published a self-titled spoken word CD and three collections of poetry, Not Just Another…Black/Woman, Missing Pages…(Women Behind the Glass Door), A Timely Trinity. Lois has been a Playwright/Director at Freedom Theatre and uses her theatrical, musical and dance background to creatively combine these various art forms to produce a powerful medium of performance art.

A classic in the making. While "Say That He Had More Than A Dream" reveals Lois' tenacity as a lawyer through the unearthing of compelling facts, her creative ingenuity in the use of multiple mediums and her activism as the strategy demands attention and stirs the soul, it's director Zuhairah McGill who hones the piece and ensemble cast into a memorable experience for the professional stage.

Still viewing herself as a developing director, Zuhairah's directing experience has spanned over 30 years having directed over 20 plays on and off Broadway ranging from "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf" to "Hairspray."

Tickets are now on sale and may also be secured within patron and business subscriptions. To purchase tickets and for more ticketing information visit http://SayThatHeHadMore.firstworldtheatre.org or call 1-866-811-4111.
