SYDNEY - Sept. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- A righty chosen carpet can transform the room from plain to comfy and well-furnished. However, there is one universal complaint that all carpet owners have: they are hard to keep clean. While some people choose to hire professional carpet cleaners north Sydney, some others prefer to do it at home using DIY sprays and mixtures.

Below given are a few easy to make, store, and use solutions that can be the ultimate answer to all your carpet cleaning woes:

Baking Soda and Vinegar Spray

This is probably the easiest DIY carpet cleaning solution. White vinegar is an excellent substance to have at hand that can get rid of even the most stubborn stains. Teamed with baking soda, it can remove unpleasant odors as well. When using on stains, thoroughly spray and let it sit for 5 minutes before blotting up.

Directions: Mix together 2 cups of white vinegar (distilled) with 2 cups of lukewarm water and add 4 large tablespoons of baking soda. Store the mixture a bottle with a spray nozzle for easy use. Keep in mind that once poured on the stain, the mixture should be properly blotted up.

Citrus-Enzyme Solution

You might have heard how enzymes help in getting rid of stains and odors by breaking them down on a molecular level. In fact, several commercial stain-removal products use this process. While the composition may sound complicated, it is incredibly easy to make and use. The only downside of this mixture is that it takes 2-3 months to be ready for use.

Directions: Add 7 large tablespoons of brown sugar to 1 liter of water. Add 1 generous cup of lemon and orange scraps or peels. Screw the cap tightly and give it a good shake. Don't forget to loosen the cap halfway before storing. If you skip this step, the build-up may make the bottle explode!

Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda Mix

It has already been established above that baking soda is a handy substance to remove stains and odors from carpets. Hydrogen peroxide is another such substance. It effectively breaks down the "crystals" and pulls out the stains from the surface of the carpet. Pair it with the natural odor remover, baking soda and you have a great carpet cleaner.

Directions: You will need rags or towels, a cup of baking soda, 3% hydrogen peroxide and one teaspoon dish liquid. As soon as you notice the stain, blot it to remove any liquid and then sprinkle baking powder on it. Pour a cup of hydrogen peroxide mixed with dish liquid and carefully pour over the stain. Vacuum thoroughly after 15 minutes. The best thing about this mixture is that you can use the ingredients straight away on your carpet stain, without having to let it sit.

Apart from these mixes, you can also use several household objects to remove stains like salt, cornstarch, ammonia, beer, and even shaving cream! While these home remedies are extremely effective, if you want to get professional help, contact carpet cleaners north Sydney.
