STOCKHOLM - Sept. 1, 2016 - PRLog -- After issuing a limited edition for professionals of the French Anti-Gang brigades in 2015, Techné dedicated a year to develop a sturdy watch that helps air traffic controllers keep track of Coordinated Universal Time.

Air traffic control has some of the strictest medical and mental requirements of any profession in the world. There are over 100,000 flights per day – more than one flight per second – and to warrant clear communication between air traffic controllers and pilots, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) makes it mandatory to use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) also known as "Zulu Time".

The display of the Techné Harrier carbon uses broad Arabic numerals with skeletonized luminous hands that have each been given a distinctive shape to avoid reading errors. The Swiss engineered Ronda 515.24H moves a bright green hand across a 24-hour scale to display UTC or a remote time.

In order to limit the influence of iron on nearby instruments, the Harrier carbon series only uses stainless steel for the case back, crown, stem, buckle and pins. The case is manufactured in carbon reinforced BPA-free nylon and set with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflection coating. The lightweight composite material is capable of withstanding pressures up to 10 bar (100 static meter), and it is highly resilient to abrasion, shocks, chemicals and temperature ranges common to the aviation industry.

The UTC Harrier carbone TE-368 is fitted with a "yellow grey" cowhide strap and a matching heavy-duty black PVD buckle. Techné adapted this design to the three-hand Ronda 515 and used a chapter ring with 5-minute increments. This version, the Harrier carbone TE-367, is fitted with a chocolate brown calf leather strap with matching heavy-duty black PVD buckle.

Both models are compatible with the whole range of 20 mm Techné straps, are covered by a 24-month manufacturer's warranty and will be available across Techné's growing network of 70+ partner stores in the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Korea and the Netherlands.
