Author and Managing Director of Publisher Savas Beatie Honored as Inaugural Recipient of New Award

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. - Aug. 30, 2016 - PRLog -- Theodore P. Savas, author and managing partner of the region's prominent independent publisher Savas Beatie LLC, has just been announced as the inaugural recipient of Emerging Civil War's new Brigadier General Robert Greely Stevenson Award for Service to Emerging Civil War.

The award was created to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Emerging Civil War, and is presented "as occasion dictates to a person or entity that has performed invaluable service to Emerging Civil War."

Together, Emerging Civil War and Savas Beatie, under the direction of Theodore Savas, have pioneered the popular and engaging Emerging Civil War series, which guides readers through some of the Civil War's most important battles and topics. The series was recently honored with the Lieutenant General Richard G. Trefry Award from the Army Historical Foundation for its contribution to the literature on the U.S. Army. The growing series consists of nearly two dozen titles—with several more on the way—including the latest, Don't Give an Inch, by Chris Mackowski, Kristopher D. White, and Daniel T. Davis.

Savas is humbled and honored to be the first recipient of this award. "I am pleased that I was and am able to play a role in Emerging Civil War's development," he states. "Working with historians and writers the caliber of Chris Mackowski and Kris White—and all the others—is a pleasure afforded to few in my position."

"Ted has been one of ECW's most stalwart supporters, and his complete faith in us has really helped unlock ECW's potential," said series editor Chris Mackowski. "That, in turn, has circled back to help Savas Beatie, so it's been the best of all possible win-win situations. Ted is a vigorous go-getter with vision and motivation, which has made him an exciting partner to work with. It has really pushed us to elevate our own game."
