America's Most Liked Wrestling travels to Davie County High School in Mocksville, NC for AML Wrestling Presents: Second To None.  This card features 8 men vying for a vacated title, a reigning and defending "King", a former ECW World Champion and the most talked-about wrestler in the sport, WWE Cruiserweight Classic contender Cedric Alexander.   Let's break down the entire event, which is subject to change:

- "King" Shane WIlliams (with Queen Taylor) defends the AML Wrestling Championship against Cedric Alexander (with 2015 Manager of the Year The Tommy Thomas)

Alexander's controversial AML Wrestling Prestige Championship win is now firmly in the rearview mirror.  Following his successful defense against Shane Strickland in July, the man who calls himself "The Best in the World" exercised his right to trade in the title for a clean one-on-one shot at the AML Wrestling Championship held by the master of the piledriver, King Shane Williams.  Williams has held the title since his April victory over Greek God Papadon and has been a true fighting champion from the start; in his latest title defense he defeated Wildman Kongo in a brutal affair in June.  This presents a new challenge for the champion, who is facing a man whose star is certainly on the rise and is likely the favorite to win the championship.  The matchup may ride on the performance of the two managers- Queen Taylor for the champion and the loquacious Tommy Thomas for the challenger.   This will truly be a toss-up, and it is likely to be an AML Match of the Year candidate.

- The Geordie Bulldogs (Mark and Sean Denny) defend the AML Wrestling Tag Team Championships against The Heatseekers (Sigmon and Elliot Russell w/ Jimmy Hart)

The Heatseekers were shocked along with the rest of us when the Supervisors of Snapmare City utlized guile, teamwork, and mysterious red mist to win the AML tag titles over Sigmon and Russell in Clemmons.  The former champions responded by invoking their rematch clause, forcing the new champions to defend the titles in Mocksville on August 27.  They then acquired the services of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart to be their manager.  The Heatseekers were the entrenched champions for a long time; was their defeat last month a fluke?  We will find out in Mocksville.

- Zane Dawson (w/George South) vs. Steve Corino/No DQ

The most violent man in AML defeated Tommy Dreamer and Damien Wayne in July in a three-way No DQ match.  He also attacked AML ring announcer Tim Blaze in Randleman, NC and demanded a match with the former ECW World Champion Steve Corino.  Corino has accepted the challenge; no word yet on the health of Blaze.

- Four Corners Match to Determine finalist for AML Prestige Championship: Axton Ray vs. Peter Kaasa vs. Jordan Kage vs. Billy Brash

Cedric Alexander left the AML Prestige Championship vacant when he traded the Prestige title for a shot at the AML Wrestling Championship. To determine the new Prestige champion, this is the first of two fatal four-way matches to determine the co-number one contenders who will then face off for the championship one-on-one in Lexington, NC September 24.  The first bout pits the debuting Billy Brash against Axton Ray of Team Axcellence, the veteran Jordan Kage, and Peter Kaasa.  Kaasa's best AML highlight is a clean pinfall against Sonjay Dutt a few months ago.  Kage just beat Caprice Coleman one-on-one in a match that got a lot of attention, and Axton Ray is a nineteen year-old high flyer who is rapidly gaining experience with the toughest wrestlers in the region.  Brash, a rebellious young grappler, will attempt to play spoiler.

- Four Corners Match to Determine finalist for AML Prestige Championship: Brandon Scott vs. Chance Prophet vs. Darius Lockhart vs Raphael King

In the other "#1 contender" four way, these four men took circuitous routes to get to this point.  Brandon Scott and Raphael King both attempted to win the inaugural Prestige title tournament only to be turned away in the semifinals.  King in particular believes he has a claim to the title after a pinfall on eventual champion Cedrick Alexander was ignored by a distracted official.  While Scott has predominantly wrestled in the tag team division for AML, he is mainly known as a tough-as-nails singles competitor with a pathway to stardom.  Darius Lockhart is an internationally-trained grappler whose youth an inexperience are more than equalled by his energy level.  The winner of both four corners matches will battle one-on-one for the AML Prestige Championship September 24.

- Scotty Matthews vs. The Regulator (w/The Tommy Thomas)

A year ago, Scotty Matthews thought his career was over.  A auto-bicycle accident left Matthews with a broken sternum and other assorted injuries that led doctors to tell him that his wrestling career was likely over.  A few short weeks later, Matthews visited the AML locker room in a wheelchair to plan a rehabilitation and eventual return with AML officials when he was accosted by manager Tommy Thomas.  Thomas publicly belittled and berated Matthews, calling him a cripple.  Chase Owens, a wrestler in Thomas's stable, even physically attacked him.  Matthews has recovered from his injuries and has challenged any member of Thomas's stable for his return match.  Thomas has tabbed the vicious Regulator to try to finish the fearless one off once and for all.  Will Scotty Matthews have a resurgence, or will the Regulator short circuit his comeback?  We will find out August 27.

Tickets are available for this event at or at the door while they last.
