House of Brass suggests that homeowners with chrome taps and fixtures in their kitchens or bathrooms may wish to look at adding brass features to bring them up to the minute with mixed metal finishes. They also propose a more striking transformation by changing taps, towel rails and door knobs to brass. "They would be perfect with chrome or black iron fixtures on your cabinets," they suggest. "You could even use metal in your flooring, for example mixing metal tiles with ceramic ones," says their spokesperson.

Other brass statements can be made with small items of furniture, for example waste bins, designer tables, chairs, solid brass bedside cabinets and other practical uses have been found for brass, also two tone ornaments. Copper and brass look good together on small decorative features.
