Follow on Google News | Festival of Trees Seeks Tree Sponsors and VolunteersGoodwill Industries of Southwest Florida begins 10th year of hosting holiday tradition
By: Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. About two dozen uniquely decorated trees, valued between $400 and $1,200, will be displayed and raffled. Some sponsors decorate beyond those minimum requirements for an exceedingly good value on a raffle ticket. "Event marketing is a great way to promote your business so the sooner tree sponsors respond, the more options they'll have to pick a theme," said Susan Hegarty, Goodwill's Community Relations Coordinator. "We don't want 15 Pokémon trees this year, but one may be apropos." In addition to tree sponsors, the event relies on dozens of volunteers during the 5-day festival. "Elves are needed to decorate the Art Center; tree angels can watch over the trees and work alongside children at Santa's Workshop. As always, the public will vote for their favorite trees, and we need volunteers to tally the ballots," said Natalie Tursi, Volunteer Coordinator. For more volunteer opportunities or to add your name to Santa's Helper list, contact Tursi at (239) 995-2106, ext. 2214 or at natalietursi@ Proceeds from this event go to the Southwest Florida Goodwill Foundation, in support of Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades Counties. The agency's mission is to help people with disabilities and disadvantages by offering life-changing opportunities to achieve independence. Goodwill's programs in Southwest Florida include Pathways to Opportunity and Pathways to Work, Job-Link resource centers, small business training classes, disability-accessible housing, the Goodwill L.I.F.E. Academy charter school, and more. End
