Minneapolis Producer's Timely Ferguson Inspired Documentary Returns To Chicago

Film Relevance and Needed Examination of Shared Humanity Increasing with Current Racially Charged National Climate

MINNEAPOLIS - July 25, 2016 - PRLog -- The time, and audience tested documentary film,"Hands Up Don't Shoot Our Youth Movement" produced/directed by Minneapolis based independent journalist & filmmaker Ralph L. Crowder III, will return to Chicago, IL for two encore screenings following its city debut in April of this year.  The film inspired by the death of Mike Brown and the Black Youth Uprising in Ferguson, Missouri, has been well received, and touring nationally since September 2014.

Screenings of the 70 minute documentary sponsored by Friends of Bill W., Leonard & JoAnn Noble, will feature director included panel discussions scheduled to take place at two Illinois locations this week. Event organizer Leonard Noble says, "In light of the current events in our country regarding Race and Class decimation, this film speaks truth about what's going on."

Thursday, July 28th @ 7pm: N'Zuri Entertainment Center, 14110 South Chicago Rd, Dalton, IL., Post screening panel: Ralph L. Crowder III, Judge Tommy Brewer, Munir Muhammad, Harold Davis (moderator)

Crowder, the film's director said, "We're looking forward to a continued building of fellowship with the people, and City of Chicago. There's a lot of work to be done, and an urgency to stand up "in life," instead of waiting for the tragic pain of death."  The filmmaker's home state of Minnesota has experienced national attention multiple times for questionable police shooting deaths of African American men; most recently Philando Castile. https://youtu.be/LUMYEYA8QDU
