Since the construction of a jeep road up through the Kali Gandaki Valley, which forms the second part of the Annapurna Circuit trek, hardy hikers have largely deserted this once classic circuit walk. Many it seems have felt that the presence of a 'road' despoils the wilderness experience.

But a bumpy, dusty jeep road to Snow Cat Travel means mountain biking, 'out of the box' opportunities and the possibility of logically linking with the first half of the Annapurna Circuit- the trek over the high mountain pass - The Thorung La 5416m-from Manang to sacred Muktinath and down to Jomsom.

The existence of a mountain airstrip at Jomsom (2800m) meant that mountain bikes could be flown up there. No need to carry them over the Thorung La and thus the challenging trekking for the first part of this multi-activity adventure remains the crux of the Annapurna Circuit as it always has been.

So, after the initial nine days of trekking it's 'all change' at Jomsom and a mountain biking descent of the incredulous Kali Gandaki Valley between the 8000+metre peaks of Dhaulagiri & Annapurna. This three day ride down the jeep road descends almost 2000 metres & then it's time to switch from land to water as a three day rafting expedition on the Kali Gandaki River itself completes this new & epic adventure.

Even better this, muti-activity adventure is not only professionally guided, there's porterage on trek and a vehicle is provided to transport luggage between accommodations during the biking. This is adventure unencumbered, even the mountain bikes are provided.
