Women's Foundation of Southwest Florida Appoints Gail Williams to Board of Directors

FORT MYERS, Fla. - July 14, 2016 - PRLog -- The Women's Foundation of Southwest Florida, serving Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties, has appointed Gail Williams, Chief Diversity Officer at Hodges University, to the Board of Directors.

Gail has served the Women's Foundation through her engagement in initiatives such as B.E.S.T, a program allowing qualified women to save for college, and receive funds to match their savings. Gail is eager to continue to use her experience to promote equality and improve the economic power of local women.

"As Maya Angelou once said, 'I learned a long time ago the wisest thing I can do is be on my own side, be an advocate for myself and others like me,'" said Williams.

Gail is in charge of promoting diversity education and inclusion at Hodges University to address the needs of Southwest Florida's changing population. Previously, she was the Director of Student Accounts. Gail was the recipient of the 2012 Diversity Face Award in Education presented by "D'latinos Magazine" and "GulfShore Business" magazine. She was awarded the Hodges University Hispanic Institute Promise Award in 2013. In March 2014, Gail was recognized by WGCU amongst the "Women Who Make Southwest Florida," and received the Makers Award. In 2015, Gail became a member of the Hodges University President's Cabinet.

Gail holds a Master of Business Administration from Hodges University. She serves on the WGCU Diversity Advisory Committee, the Harry Chapin Food Bank Action Committee, the Darlene and Friends Board, and is a Board Member of the House of Gaia.
