Santa Clarita Storm Opens League Play with Local Derby

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - July 5, 2016 - PRLog -- The Santa Clarita Storm, a professional developmental team, will begin league play on Sunday, July 17th. The Storm will host Valley United SC to begin the United Premier Soccer League's 2016 Summer Season. The Storm will resume their Derby battle vs cross valley rivals in the first game of the new season. In the last three seasons, the San Fernando Valley Team, Valley United SC and the Santa Clarita Storm have battled each other for bragging rights however, Valley United SC leads the Derby by one win. The Storm will host Valley United SC at their home field, The Masters College in Santa Clarita. The game kicks off at 5:00pm and gates open at 4:30pm. Tickets are $10.00 adults 14 and over, 13 and under are FREE. Come support your local team and catch exciting top level soccer right here at the beautiful campus of The Masters College.

The Storm will play seven home games and seven away games in the UPSL regular season play. Plus, with play-offs in October, the top four from each conference will advance to the playoffs in a 12 team single elimination tournament. Home games for the Storm are July 17th, Aug. 7th, Aug 21st, Sept. 11th, Sept. 18th, Oct. 2nd and the Storm wraps up the season on Oct. 16th with a match against new league members and new cross town rivals, Newhall Premier FC. You won't want to miss all the exciting games coming this summer. All games will kick off at 5pm and all games will be played at The Masters College @ 21726 Placerita Road, Santa Clarita, CA.
