Follow on Google News | Dr. Sean Freeman Contributes A Chapter to An Analytical Approach to Facelifts and NeckLiftsBy: SCD Consulting Services for Only Faces Dr. Freeman's chapter is called "The Mid- Face Lift (SOOF.) Dr. Freeman, Charlotte's top facial plastic surgeon at Only Faces, specializes in faces and is the creator of the SOOF lift blepharoplasty. In the chapter, Dr. Freeman discusses his myofacial facelift with a SOOF lift blepharoplasty as an ingenious way to create a much younger appearance with a very small and subtle alteration to the face. This procedure should involve less swelling than a typical cheek lift. Recovery time is one to two weeks, and the stitches are taken out after five days. A SOOF lift blepharoplasty is distinctly different from a regular lower eyelid procedure. In an open lower lid blepharoplasty the surgeon makes an incision under the eyelashes of the lower lid, lifts the skin and muscle and takes the suborbicularis oculi fat out completely. The trouble with this approach is that the missing deposit of fat makes the lower eyelid and tear trough look hollow. Sometimes it's replaced by fat taken from a different part of the body, but if the new fat is too heavy it can cause the lower lid to pull away from the eyeball. The SOOF lift blepharoplasty, is different in that the surgeon makes the initial incision on the inside of the eyelid, lifts the suborbicularis oculi fat back into place and tightens the fascial layer in order to hold it in place. Dr. Sean Freeman of Only Faces in Charlotte NC is the surgeon who developed the SOOF lift Since 1988, he has done nothing but facial plastic surgery, including eyelid surgeries, and has often taught the SOOF lift to other surgeons.
