GLASGOW, Scotland - June 14, 2016 - PRLog -- Home a short documentary about Syrian Refugees in Glasgow

What is home? For 59.5 million displaced people worldwide, including 3.9 million Syrians and 15.6 million other refugees there is no easy answer. The Syrian Civil War has plunged an entire country into disarray, and showing no sign of stopping, many more families are at risk of being upended from their homes. To turn a blind eye to suffering on this scale would be an affront to right of every human life to live in dignity and safety, and we all must do all we can to help those in greatest need. With demagogic politicians increasingly trying to disparage the living, breathing human experiences behind these numbers, facilitating listening and understanding is now more necessary than ever.

Al-Khair Glasgow would like to invite you to our screening of Home, a documentary about the experiences of Syrian refugees living here in Glasgow. Made in collaboration with Valerie Lyon, the short film explores what it means to lose your home, the struggle to find a new one and the acceptance and support of strangers. A Q&A session will be held afterwards with our Syrian volunteers who starred in the film.

Where? The Scottish Youth Theatre, 105 Brunswick Street, G1 1TF

When? Thursday 16th and Friday 17th at 7pm

Entry is £8 and 80 seats are available per night. All money raised will go towards vital humanitarian aid in Syria.
