Al Zakarian Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award by The Connecticut Law Tribune

HARTFORD, Conn. - May 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Day Pitney LLP is pleased to announce that Employment and Labor attorney Albert Zakarian has been chosen as a Lifetime Achievement winner of The Connecticut Law Tribune's second annual Professional Excellence Awards 2016.

The Professional Excellence Awards 2016 recognize 28 lawyers, who were chosen from over 60 nominees, as either Lawyer of the Year or Lifetime Achievement recipients, according to The Connecticut Law Tribune.  The Lifetime Achievement Awards honor  "attorneys who have excelled over a career."

Zakarian, who has tried more than 100 cases to verdict in both state and federal courts, has been practicing law for over 50 years. In a profile in The Connecticut Law Tribune he discusses his advocacy for clients, and how he devotes time to mentoring young lawyers on the benefits of civility.

"You know what I'm most proud of, besides representing clients well? It's becoming a good mentor to those who wanted to be trial lawyers," Zakarian says in an interview with The Connecticut Law Tribune.

The Connecticut Law Tribune article also delves into Zakarian's pro bono work as well as his most memorable cases, including a trial he won in which he defended an airman who was charged with murder after shooting and killing a Marine. Zakarian-- who was a U.S. Air Force captain in Vietnam at the time-- was able to persuade the panel to exonerate his client of the homicide charges. He proved to the panel that the Marine might have survived the gunshot wound if not for falling off a cot in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Al Zakarian is a trial lawyer in Day Pitney's Hartford office. His practice is focused on employment and business litigation. He has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution, including service as an arbitrator and mediator.
