SAN JOSE, Calif. - May 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Lex Machina, a LexisNexis company and creator of Legal Analytics®, today announced that Karl Harris, CTO and VP of Products, will speak at the upcoming IP Counsel Exchange Event on Post-Grant Patent Challenges at the PTAB. The two-day conference is the premier strategy and benchmarking event for corporate IP counsel to compare and share valuable lessons learned from litigation in one of the top corporate patent venues today, The Patent Trial and Appeal Board. It will be held at the Silicon Valley Capital Club in San Jose on May 10th and May 11th and is open to in-house counsel and executives.

Karl's session, scheduled for Wednesday, May 11th at 9:15 a.m.,  is titled "Legal Analytics for PTAB: Using Data-Driven Insights into PTAB Trials and District Court Cases to Set IP Litigation Strategy." Karl will discuss how to use Legal Analytics to supplement traditional legal research and reasoning to make data-driven decisions about dispute resolution strategy. Attendees will learn how data about judges, parties, law firms, attorneys, patents, case outcomes and trends can inform early case assessment, outside counsel selection, choice of venue, case budget and day-to-day tactics for better litigation outcomes.

"PTAB is now a critical piece of any patent litigation strategy, and a critical piece of any District Court Strategy itself, especially for defendants," said Owen Byrd, Chief Evangelist and General Counsel at Lex Machina. "If you are involved in any District Court patent litigation, you have to consider the possibility of PTAB being used as a venue to challenge the validity of the patent at issue in the case."

Registration to the conference is complimentary. For more information, please vist http://momentumevents.com/patent/.
