DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - May 9, 2016 - PRLog -- Volusia/Flagler SCORE Chapter 87 is pleased to announce that volunteer Pam Brown has earned two Captain of Industry awards for her efforts to help create new businesses and jobs. She has been recognized by the national SCORE organization for 2015, as well as cumulatively.

Twelve of Pamela's clients started businesses and there were 102 total jobs created across the clients she served.  According to Steve Records, SCORE VP of Operations, "that was 3rd most of any SCORE volunteer (nationwide) last year."

The national SCORE Organization has also deemed Pam to be a Captain of Industry - its second highest level of recognition -- for her efforts over the past four years.  The data is compiled by Price Waterhouse Cooper and includes responses from 65,000 clients. The Captain of Industry award is any volunteer with a total of 500-1,499 new businesses started and positions created over the four-year period.

"It's outstanding volunteers like Pam that allow our organization to continue to serve the business community with top-notch mentoring services," said Chapter President Tom Hellman. "Our volunteers truly care about our clients and strive to see them succeed," added Hellman.

Through their annual Client Engagement Survey, SCORE tracks the successful client outcomes back to the client's primary volunteer. A "successful client outcome" from this survey is counted as the total number of new businesses plus the total of all jobs created within all businesses assisted. SCORE had nearly 2,500 volunteers see reported client success this past fiscal year, including 509 new volunteers to join this list.

The Volusia/Flagler SCORE Chapter celebrated its 50th year serving clients in 2015. Last year, they provided over 1,400 counseling services for some 775 entrepreneurs, many of whom have gone on to start businesses or improve existing businesses. In addition, the Chapter conducts a workshop program, in collaboration with the UCF Incubator, which attracted over 2,100 attendees last year. The Chapter has also received the Platinum Rating by the National SCORE Organization as one of the top Chapters nationwide.
