MIAMI - April 27, 2016 - PRLog -- The Florida Venture Forum has selected 20 Florida-based companies to present at its 9th annual 2016 Florida Early Stage Capital Conference being held at the Hilton Carillon in St. Petersburg, Florida on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

"We had a record number of applications this year and our selection committee did an outstanding job of choosing 20 of Florida's most promising early stage companies," said Jennifer Dunham, partner at Arsenal Venture Partners, chair of the conference selection committee and a board member of the Florida Venture Forum. "The Forum's Early Stage Capital Conference continues to grow every year and has become one of the largest and most important gatherings of angel and early stage investors in the State."

In addition to company presentations and other programming, the Conference will feature a total of $150,000 in cash awards presented to the first, second and third place winning companies, provided by Space Florida. Past early stage presenters have attracted more than $36 million in funding.

Presenters were selected from a pool of approximately 100 applicants by a committee of active Florida venture capitalists and other investors, and will present to an audience of investors, other deal professionals and entrepreneurs.  The 20 presenting companies are listed below, by region:

Central/East Central Florida

Daytona 1, Holly Hill (www.daytona1.net), designs formulas and products for various applications in the racing market.

Harvest CROO Robotics, Plant City (http://www.harvestcroorobotics.com (http://www.harvestcroo.com/)), develops robotics for agriculture. They are currently in the process of completing development of a robotic strawberry picker.

Home for Life Design, Sanford (www.homeforlifedesign.com), is the leading home assessment solution enabling the 73 million people over age 50 to remain in their home longer and safer.

MYOLYN, LLC., Gainesville (www.myolyn.com), is a medical technology company that uses electrical stimulation to help people living with paralysis regain their mobility, health, and independence.

Sigarca, Archer (www.sigarca.com), is a water to energy and agricultural products company, specializing in anaerobic bioenergy technology for the food and agricultural industries.

Society+, Melbourne (www.society-plus.com), is an ecommerce retailer selling fashion forward, plus size clothing in an extended size range (sizes 14 - 32).

Verigo, Gainesville (www.verigo.io), is bringing visibility, accountability, and traceability to sensitive and perishable products to reduce supply chain inefficiencies and help keep the products you rely on safe.

Southeast Florida

Candidate.Guru, Inc., Weston (www.candidate.guru), is a paradigm changing human resource tool that uses cloud-based, big data analytics to predict a culture "fit" between job candidates and potential employers.
