| ![]() "Power" Star, Empowers DC AudienceBy: Icon Talks Hardwick will engage in on stage conversation with DC attorney, social philanthropist and New Age Millennial Voice, John Burns. The exchange will reveal Hardwick's journey and rise to prominence, disseminating the message of "Embracing the Power in You." Hardwick's story is truly a compelling testimony of perseverance. His life lessons include the rise and fall of his professional athletic career, the humility of homelessness and the proverbial Hollywood story of the struggling actor living out of his car. Despite these hurdles, Hardwick persevered pursuing his original love for the arts and acting. The audience will get the opportunity to gain insight of the intimate details of this voyage as Burns guides the conversation on stage. Following the on stage discussion, Hardwick will share his artistic love delivering an emotional performance of his original sonnets in spoken word poetry accompanied by live instruments and performers. Hardwick is a dedicated and consummate poet who has penned several pieces which he has performed in front of audiences nationwide. Although widely acclaimed as an actor, his poetic talents move audiences with an emotional charge. The event will also include a performance by recording artist Tulani and others and also recognize DC area icons who have shown a commitment to service and community empowerment. The performance will be hosted at The Mead Center for American Theatre on Thursday, June 30th. The show starts at 8:30 pm in the Arena Stage. A small VIP reception precedes the performance offering open bar, appetizers and black carpet entrance which begin at 6:30 pm. (VIP reception tickets offered at a premium.)
