NH Photographer selected for EXPOSURE at the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - April 25, 2016 - PRLog -- New Hampshire Photographer, Thea Dodds is one of 13 artists selected out of 246 entries for the 20th Annual Photographic Resource Center Juried Exhibition.  Dodds' farm-to-table series entitled, Listening to the Bees, features handmade photographs created with NH grown materials, such as eggs, honey and bees.  The series honors the relationship between humans and honey bees with the alchemy of albumen, including paper sculptures made from albumen photographs that are placed inside Dodds' NH bee hives.  The bees crawl on and into the objects, vibrating their wings while chewing or excreting wax.

Dodds' is the only NH artist selected and the only artist from a town of less than 1500 residents in this show.  "I'm thrilled to bring a little bit of rural New Hampshire to the city of Boston," says Dodds, "these photographs and sculptures are truly grown from NH soil, and are very much about the place in which they were made."

Listening to the Bees is on display at the Photographic Resource Center at 832 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston MA from April 28-June 26, 2016.  The gallery is open Thursday's from 11am-8pm and Friday-Saturday from 11am-4pm.  There will be an opening reception on Thursday May 5, from 5-8pm.  This event is free and open to the public.
