A truly captivating sci-fi action thriller, perfect for the big screen -one that fans will certainly enjoy; Itoh's steampunk vision of an alternate 19th century world occupied by Frankenstein- Project Itoh was the pseudonym of popular Japanese science fiction writer Satoshi Ito. His first novel "Genocidal Organ" was published in 2007 and was followed by "Harmony" in 2009 which won the 2009 Japanese Science Fiction Grand Prize. Itoh's brief writing career of 3-years was cut short when he died of cancer at the age of 34. Two of his works were published posthumously - a novel adaptation of "Metal Gear Solid 4" and "The Empire of Corpses." Film Synopsis Empire of Corpses: In an alternate version of 19th century London, the world has been revolutionized by "corpse reanimation technology" creating armies of undead who serve the living as laborers across the globe. In an attempt to revive his dearly departed friend, young medical student John Watson becomes obsessed with replicating the work of Dr. Victor Frankenstein- Harmony: In a future ruled by an unwavering dedication to good health, three high school girls led by the defiant Miach Mihie attempt suicide as the ultimate act of rebellion. Tuan Kirie survives, but can¹t shake the hatred she has for the ³perfect world² she lives in. Years later, a simultaneous mass suicide rocks the globe and sends society into a state of shock. A small group stands up to take credit for the event, claiming they¹ve hijacked the consciousness of every person on the planet. Everything about the terrorists¹ message sounds too familiar to Tuan. She suspects her old friend Miach might be involved, but how could that be when she¹d supposedly killed herself years earlier? Desperate for answers, Tuan launches an investigation that takes her across the globe chasing the ghost of her old friend. But what is Miach¹s end game?
