Learn to Build a Joomla! Template

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - April 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Having trouble finding a template to meet your needs?  Just prefer creating your own design?

This hands-on training class will give you the basics to get you started building your own Joomla! Template

The morning session will cover:

• Template Basics
• Bootstrap Basics
• Reasons to Create your own Template
• Design Best Practices
• Development Tools Overview

The afternoon session will cover:

• Setting up your development environment
• Creating the template
• Making an install package
• Template overrides and custom CSS files

This class is led by instructor Alonzo Turner of Subtext Productions, a Chicago-based company specializing in custom design and programming for Joomla! CMS System.  You may remember him from JoomlaDay Chicago.

Because this is a hands-on class, there are a few pre-requisites:

• Working Joomla Knowledge
• Working CSS and XML Knowledge
• Your Own Laptop to use during the session

This event will be held in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.  Location is TBD based on number of registrants.
