HOUSTON - April 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Life Savers 24 Hour Emergency Room - in partnership with Dr. Cross, located at 8220 Tomball Pkwy #140, Houston, TX., Lakewood Dentistry located at 11500 Louetta Rd. Houston TX. and Remington College at Greenspoint located at 11310 Greens Crossing Blvd #300, Houston, TX - exceeded their expectations and provided free vision, dental and blood pressure screenings back to back for 3 hours.  See event pictures here (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1833184983575871.1073741837.1678332172394487&type=3).

As they continue to tabulate the number of screenings completed, Life Savers 24 Hour Emergency Room is already planning their next health fair to be even bigger and better for the upcoming Summer season.  The fairs are part of the Northwest Houston Community Co-Op Wellness Initiative - an effort to mobilize business leaders and health and wellness professionals to educate and engage the public outside of their storefronts and doctors' offices.

The fair began around 11 a.m.  Volunteers from Cypress Woods High school Key Club, Girl Scout Troop #16109 and Northwest Houston Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club contributed by passing out fliers, waving cars and nearby patrons to pull into the health fair and assisting the health care providers.  The wellness sponsors were Jenny Craig and Holistic Physical Therapy.  They provided free 30 day memberships and meal plans and complementary massages for the public.

The goal of the fair was to let the public know of the healthy choice options that were available in their own community. Rock Fish Grill at Champions Forest was on the scene providing the public healthy option samples of their menu. Patrons were delighted to taste samples from their "Body and Sole" menu. They excited everyone with their super great tasting Louisiana Style Gumbo that was very low in sodium and carbs.

The fair catered to every child and adult.  While the kids were busy getting an exploratory and hands-on ambulance tour, and first aid presentation, the parents were greeted by the ER staff with a tour of the facility, took part in physical screenings, and enjoyed complementary massages and meal plan options from the event wellness sponsors.

Later that evening Dr. Foye, Life Savers 24 Hour Emergency Room Medical Director, gave the Girl Scouts an exclusive tour and first aid presentation and awarded the Scouts with their own first aid kit.
