Description: Writers To Watch is presented with the Friends of the Central Library to highlight the work of the San Diego region's local authors. In this month's installment, author Matthew J. Pallamary will present "Shamanism: The Original World's Oldest Profession", discussing the theme that is common to several of his books.

The event takes place in the Mary Hollis Clark Conference Center (ground floor near the Library Shop gift store).

Pallamary frequently visits the mountains, deserts and jungles of North and South America pursuing his studies of shamanism. His historical novel of first contact between shamans and Jesuits in 18th century South America, titled, Land Without Evil, was published by Charles Publishing, and received rave reviews along with a San Diego Book Award. It was also adapted into a full-length stage and sky show, co-written by Agent Red with Matt Pallamary, directed by Agent Red, and performed by Sky Candy, an Austin Texas aerial group. The making of the show was the subject of a PBS series, Arts in Context episode which garnered an EMMY nomination. Land Without Evil is being translated into Spanish.,+San+Dieg...
