March 22, 2016 - PRLog -- Elliott Broidy is an avid supporter of the Early Investigator High School Program (EiHS) at University of Southern California (USC,) which offers an opportunity for high school students to explore the areas of  stem cell science.  The program has recently announced dates for 2016! The summer program will be held from June 13 - August 5and the application deadline for all interested students is May 1, 2016.

The EiHS Research Internship Program is a rigorous inquiry-based program for students who are serious about pursuing a career in science or medicine. This life-changing opportunity enables future scientists to kick-start their careers in laboratories that are transforming the future of medicine.

Participating students work for eight-weeks in stem cell research laboratories across Los Angeles. They receive career counseling from world-renowned scientists and learn first-hand what it takes to be a stem cell researcher.  EiHS turns high school students into polished stem cell scientists.

·         STEM CELL BOOT CAMP - The program begins with a five-day laboratory course that provides training in commonly used techniques for growing, analyzing and manipulating human stem cells.

·         FORUMS - Group forums are held once per week to discuss the political, ethical and philosophical aspects of stem cell research.

·         RESEARCH INTERNSHIP - After undergoing basic training, participants work for seven weeks on their own research project under the guidance of a faculty and laboratory mentor.

·         EiHS COLLOQUIUM - The program culminates with the EiHS Colloquium. This event enables participating students to showcase their work to friends, family and the scientific community.
