By: Oliver Russell “We had applicants from four continents and as far away as Belgium and Zambia,” said Russ Stoddard, Oliver Russell’s founder and CEO. “To be in a position to help these organizations and extend our reach beyond Boise is exciting and humbling.” Two winners come from the firm's home market of Boise. They include Greenspeed Research, a nonprofit dedicated to furthering STEM education, and the Central Addition “LIV District,” which seeks to revitalize one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods by creating a sustainable, mixed-use space. Greenspeed was awarded a $1,000 cash grant while the LIV District will receive $10,000 in agency services to help develop its brand and communications efforts. The three other winners are: HATCH Ostinato Project, a nonprofit based in Bozeman, Mont., that facilitates and funds music education, especially in underserved communities. The Ostinato Project will receive $25,500 in agency services to redesign its website, attract new partners, and expand the project beyond Montana. Wakati, a maker of solar-powered, tent-like storage systems that help farmers in developing nations better preserve their harvest and boost their income. Based in Antwerp, Belgium, Wakati will receive a $1,000 cash donation to help fund a pilot study in Kenya. Western Natural Foods, a San Francisco-based Public Benefit Corporation looking to redefine the food industry with a portfolio of healthy food that’s free of preservatives and excessive sugar. Oliver Russell will contribute $7,500 in agency services to help develop their brand.
