Joomla 3.5 Beta 1 Released For Testing February 28, 2016

New Major Release Of Popular Website CMS Sports Broad Range Of Improvements

NEW YORK - Feb. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- The Joomla Project released a Beta 3 version of the upcoming 3.5 release for testing. Instructions for download and issue reporting can be found here: https://www.joomla.org/announcements/release-news/5646-joomla-3-5-beta-3-released.html

This is the third Beta before release of the Release Candidate version. it is for testing purposes only, and should not be used on a production site. There is no upgrade path from Beta to final release. The Joomla Project is asking those in the user community to do testing and report problems.

The upcoming Joomla version 3.5 is expected to release its final candidate in early March, 2016 after the Release Candidate. This release protocol for testing will help ensure that this upcoming release meets the quality standards of Joomla CMS. Joomla is a feature packed CMS - there's a lot of code behind it.

Said George Wilson, 3.5 Deputy Lead of the Joomla Production Leadership Team: "This release is covering a broad range.

"There's some nice UX improvements with the drag and drop image uploads in the editor. There's also some nice stuff for 3rd party extension developers with the ability for users to provide their system information.  We get PHP 7 support as early as possible to stay competitive, especially given the performance benefits that have been touted.”

New Features in this version of Joomla! include:

Drag and drop images in editor

Flip and rotate images in editor

Item counts in article manager

Environment statistics collection

Email validity testing

Easier CSS customization of the default template

Front-end module editing

"The stats collection is to help us plan for Joomla 4 - it is obviously important for us to have knowledge of what versions of php our users are running.” said Wilson

"And unfortunately, the planned router improvements just can't make it in by deadline. The work is 98% done, but reasons beyond our control prevent including it. We hope to release that soon in another version.” he added.
