Rhino Labs 1Gb and 10GbE PCI-e Smart NICs with Failover Targeting Network Security and Network Inlin

Rhino Labs’ NIC6600 product family is based on Cavium Octeon II Multi Core CPU with the purpose of boosting packet-processing in high-speed Monitoring, Security and Networking equipment
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Feb. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- San Jose, CA, February 22nd, 2016 –Rhino Labs (http://www.rhinolabsinc.com/), a leading provider of high-performance data security, networking, and data infrastructure solutionsis announcing its 1Gbps (http://www.rhinolabsinc.com/pcie-rlcn6645-qge-wbp/) and 10Gigabit (http://www.rhinolabsinc.com/pcie-rlcn6645-2x10gebp/) Ethernet Smart Network Adapter with bypass technology. The Smart NICs fully offload secure network services, packet classification and network protocols processing from the host CPU and handle high speed network traffic up to 20 Gbps line rate per port. The Smart Network Adapters come in a PCI-e form factor and are targeted at Networking/ Security Appliances, Servers and Monitoring Systems. The Smart NIC family incorporates the Rhino Health Monitoring (RHM) tool, which provides continuous monitoring of CPU cores, board peripherals, and host processors via heartbeats, voltage, and temperature checkpoints. The family consists of three members

·         NIC6635 (http://www.rhinolabsinc.com/pcie-rlcn6635-qge-wbp/) – Quad port 1GBASE-T, 2 network segments, 6 MIPS CPU cores

·         NIC6645 (http://www.rhinolabsinc.com/pcie-rlcn6645-qge-wbp/)- Quad port 1GBASE-T, 2 network segments, 10 MIPS CPU cores

·         NIC6645-10 (http://www.rhinolabsinc.com/pcie-rlcn6645-2x10gebp/) – Dual port 10G Fiber, one network segment, 10 MIPS CPU cores

The NIC6600 family is based on Cavium’s Octeon II (http://www.cavium.com/OCTEON-II_CN66XX.html) multi-core processors family of CPUs, which integrates 6 or 10 cores, and provides high performance integration for Deep Packet inspection and next generation 3G/4G/LTE wireless base station platforms. It also provides up to 15GHz of application performance with a large 2MB L2 cache and a DDR3 memory controller. Included is security acceleration for SNOW 3G and KASUMI, TCP/IP packet processing acceleration, and QoS. Cavium’s PowerOptimizer™ technology limits maximum power from 9 to 20 watts from low-end to high-end.

“Rhino Labs’ is pleased to announce the Cavium based NIC6600 Smart NIC family of products. A complete line of products will be announced during 2016,” said Guy Marom, Rhino Labs’ CEO. “The Smart NICs are installed in servers as well as security and networking appliances and offload processing from the host CPU by performing packet classification at wire speed. With the RHM technology we guarantee that the Smart NICs will perform reliably in any environment.”

Rhino Labs includes extensive support for software development and provides full SDK, Linux OS, and drivers to control the failover mechanize and EJTAG for debugging purposes.

The Smart NIC family is currently available in production very well priced for volume production. For pricing and additional information go to www.rhinolabsinc.com
