Jan. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- While planning a holiday through Vietnam one of the places you are looking forward to visiting is Hoi An, where many travellers absolutely raved about the place. And Cycling in Vietnam can be considered a challenge experience. Traffic can be intense, trucks can be unforgiving. Like pedestrians, cyclists hold a lowly place in the hierarchy of Vietnam’s roads. However Hoi An is one of the few places that has taken some steps to be cycle safety and friendly. The old town is closed to motorised traffic for large parts of the day and night making it perfect for casual cycling and walking. And the countryside around the old town is picturesque and relatively safe for cycling too. See the Hoi An countryside from the perspective of a local in this biking tour. Show up with a bike and allow your guide to lead you to nearby villages where you will see stunning rural scenes and got to experience life outside of Hoi An. Here are some of the places we especially enjoyed riding to….Kim Bong Village, Tra Que Vegetable Village, Cam Thanh Water Coconut Palm Village, Thanh Ha Village, beach, song thu river.

1. Kim Bong carpentry Village
Kim Bong carpentry village is located at Cam Kim Hamlet. Just on the other side of Hoi An river. Take a boat trip on Thu Bon River to visit Thanh Ha & Kim Bong handicraft Villages, This village is very famous for its carpentry, as almost all Hoian ancient architecture were produced by their ancestors’ talented hands at a time when Hoi An flourished as a major sea port. Kim Bong carpenters’ techniques are perfect. Their sculptured works on the head of scissors, slanting, desks, altars, furniture, cabinets, trays, and the like, are masterpieces admired by everyone. Today, Kim Bong carpenters still keep their old career, although there have been many among them who have shifted to ship building and recovering historical monument or relics. Many products are sold as souvenir to tourists and over-sea.
A tour to Kim Bong Carpentry Village is often a half-day bicycle, which allows visitors to see the artisans working with their skillful hands on the crafts.

2. Thanh Ha Pottery Village
In the 16th and 17th century Thanh Ha was a thriving village. It was famous for earthenware that was sold in many provinces throughout Central Vietnam. It was Thanh Ha villagers who made the bricks, tiles and floor slabs for the old buildings in Hoi An and the surrounding areas. Nowadays many old buildings in Hoi An need restoring and the Thanh Ha villagers are the only contractors that can provide standardized bricks, tiles and floor slabs exactly like the ones when the old port town prospered.

3. Tra Que Vegetable Village
Bicycle to Tra Que Vegetable Village (http://yourvietnamtravel.com/half-day-tra-que-village/) –
is a small farming community located about 2 kilometers northeast of Hoi An. It’s an easy bicycle ride and a quite scenic one which involves pedaling past rice fields, glassy rivers, and lazy water buffaloes lounging in the mud. This village is famous for many kinds of vegetables in a long time: lettuce, salad, houttuynia, flagrant knoutwed, basil and coriander vegetables etc., The village is named after the sweet scented vegetables that spice up the everyday meals of the Hoi An people. Here a new spirit for traditional Hoi An dishes like Cao Lau, Quang noodles, the local ‘Tam huu’ spring roll (made from Tra Que vegetables) and cake with meat (Banh xeo) has been enlivened. The farmers use neither manure nor chemical fertilisers but a kind of algae found only in a lagoon in Tra Que. As a result, the vegetables both look beautiful in their fields as well as possessing outstanding taste and flavour. Products sell well and are highly appreciated due to the freshness, good quality and safety.

4. Tra Nhieu Village
Located by the charming river and among the water coconut jungle, Tra Nhieu Fishing Village is one of the few villages still retaining Vietnamese rural features, reflecting a peaceful simple life of the local. A real Tra Nhieu Tour is a perfect combination of bicycle tour and discovery of the very rural Vietnamese culture and way of life

5. The Beach
There are two popular beaches near Hoi An called An Bang and Cua Dai. Both are nice beaches within an easy bike ride from the city center. Both can also be crowded and touts will frequently walk along the beach selling all sorts of stuff. While in Hoi An, spend several days biking down to Hidden Beach, lounging on the beach chairs, reading, building sandcastles, and swimming in the ocean.
Bicycling in Hoi An was definitely a highlight for your Holiday to Vietnam and hope that you have the opportunity to enjoy bicycling in Hoi An.
