Shutts & Bowen’s Aliette DelPozo Rodz chairs Florida Bar 11th Circuit Grievance Committee

MIAMI - Jan. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Shutts & Bowen LLP Partner Aliette DelPozo Rodz has been appointed to chair a Florida Bar Grievance Committee for Miami-Dade’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit.

Ms. Rodz is a member of Shutts & Bowen’s Litigation Practice Group in the Miami office and chairs the firm’s Cuba Task Force.  She is a member of The Florida Bar’s International and Business Law sections.

Bar Grievance Committees review complaints about lawyers with much the same purpose as a grand jury, to determine whether there is probable cause to believe a lawyer violated the professional conduct rules imposed by the Supreme Court of Florida and whether discipline against the lawyer appears to be warranted.

The committees are made up of volunteer members, at least one-third of whom are not lawyers. Each of Florida's 20 judicial circuits has at least one such committee. Ms. Rodz is chairing the grievance committee for Eleventh Judicial Circuit Section 11B.
