By: Carlisle Events These advancements center on event planning as well as the Marketing and Creative Services team. Earning honors are Brett Withjack, formerly the Web/Multimedia Specialist and Mike Garland, the former Media Specialist. In addition, Tyler Staley, former event manger for two shows with Carlisle Events will see an increased role for 2016. Withjack started his career in 2008 at Versatile Systems Inc. and later worked with a company called JPL Creative. In 2012 Withjack became Carlisle Events’ full-time in-house Multimedia Specialist. Those responsibilities covered everything from email marketing to commercial video production. Withjack focuses his efforts on a high standard of design and applies his skills and knowhow to several web platforms and languages, creating new and engaging email newsletters weekly, films and produces commercials, photographs and even pilots the official Carlisle Events drone. His new and modern ideas and practices help keep Carlisle Events ahead of the curve. With a wide variety of duties and responsibilities, Withjack first started as a designer of online marketing ads along with printed advertorials. With the addition of two new team members, Withjack had more time to focus on bigger and more exciting projects and ultimately flourish into the staff member that he is today, the Multimedia and Web Manager. Garland came to America’s Automotive Hometown team from Jacksonville, Florida where he worked for Cox Media Group and the Jacksonville Jaguars. A central Pennsylvania native, Garland is now recognized by many media members as #MikeThePRGuy. His new job role sees him transition from Media Specialist to Public Relations Manager. Although Garland will continue to work with the media and assist in the buying and ad placement efforts, his concentration will shift to securing various public relations opportunities for Carlisle Events. Such instances have been more frequent with the company’s growth in recent years. In addition, a 2015 appearance on Fox and Friends as well as multiple stories on USA Today, Fox Sports and Fox News web pages has showcased what Carlisle Events is all about to the masses! Further, in 2011, Garland initiated an effort which saw the Cumberland Valley showcased in U.S. Airways in-flight magazine. Garland will continue to be the communications representative for the company both internally and externally. For Staley, he started with Carlisle Events in 2012. Initially, Staley was the event manger for the Carlisle GM Nationals and has since managed two other events on the Carlisle schedule. Now for 2016 (and beyond), Staley will head bookings and operations with the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center. In addition, Tyler will continue to lead the way for the GM Nationals. In that role, he’s in charge of planning and guiding the event in regards to special guests, special displays, showfield layout, logistics and numerous other aspects. For the Expo, along with booking, he’s responsible for meeting with potential clients, negotiating contracts, preparing the facility for events and staffing the facility during event hours. Withjack and Garland have hit the ground running in 2016 and their efforts, combined with those of the remainder of the Carlisle Events staff promises to make the upcoming season even bigger and better than ever!
