Follow on Google News | 31st Annual Kingdom Day Parade Monday, January 18, 2016 – Los Angeles, CAThe Parade’s Theme “Our Work Is Not Yet Done” will emphasize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy and vision that equality and equity is a lifetime goal that they are achievable to ensure the rights of others are respected today and for future generations. Dr. King’s weapon of choice in this war against oppression was and is the “the power of love”. The parade is organized by Dr. Adrian Dove, President & CEO of the Kingdom Day Parade, in conjunction with the Congress of Racial Equality of California (CORE-CA). Dr. Dove worked directly for Dr. King in the Voter Registration Program in Alabama during the 60’s. The 31st Annual MLK Parade features various local television, radio and print press representatives as well as local community leaders and groups who support Dr. King’s legacy. One of the basic but most important goals of the Kingdom Parade organization is to consider in everything we do we ask ourselves, “What would Dr. King do in this situation and the state of the world if he were here today.” Lyft will be providing a free $20 ride for new users that day when using the code: MLKLA.
