CHICAGO - Jan. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Ever want to take a trip, but the immediate cost may hurt your pockets? Airfordable, a black-owned financial tech platform, wants to reduce that struggle for millennials. The startup launched their online platform on December 8, 2015 for open beta access. Airfordable allows anyone to book a flight for only a third upfront and pay the rest in installments before their travel date. It’s layaway for airfare! Airfordable plans to disrupt the travel market by increasing the chances of millennial travel freedom.

Founder, Ama Marfo, a native of Washington, DC residing in Chicago, found it hard to travel during her years as an undergrad at Drexel University and thought that there could be an easier way to offset costs. With her two cofounders, Craig Henry II and Emmanuel Buah, they plan on helping more people in the late 20’s to mid40’s travel more often. So, often that signups have hit an overwhelming flow!

“According to Joe Cortez of FrugalTravelGuy.com, this service could be helpful for someone working to recover their credit score or trying to remain within a preset budget plan and avoid splurges.” USA Today Travel

As of right now, those who sign up by visiting Airfordable.com are able to book domestic and international flights under $2000 (two thousand dollars), but for a limited time. They’ve had an influx of travelers book flights to Iceland, Puerto Rico, Italy, San Francisco and more for under this price point so far. The company has plans to remove the price threshold later in the year. Cofounder Ama Marfo noticed a recent hike in signups. “We started out with a $500 per ticket price limit only to come across an increase in sign ups and user feedback requesting a higher price point. So, we strapped up our platform to handle trips under $2,000 for a limited time. The response has been great so far!”

So, prepare to take a flight to Miami for Spring Break and start your payments now or plan for a trip to The 2016 Olympics in Brazil (since there’s no visa required for US Citizens this summer), Mardi Gras, Coachella and even the next conference you’ve been eyeing. Airfordable can definitely help anyone get there!
