The First Natural Wine Bar, Dio, Opens in Washington, DC

WASHINGTON - Oct. 25, 2017 - PRLog -- The first natural wine bar in the area has opened. Dio wine Bar is founded by Stacey Khoury-Diaz of Sonoma County, CA, a wine-country raised Latina who brings her talents to DC full throttle. Dio Wine Bar opened on September 20, 2017, and is now thriving at 904 H Street NE, DC.

Dio will feature 30 select natural wines at a time which will be in rotation of new producers frequently. "My favorite is Garrut wine called GT by Partida Creus." says Stacey. "Dio is a space that specializes in natural and small-production wines, and that's part of the fun. We may have a wine for two months and then bring in something entirely different. We also want to enhance our guests' experience with our intimate and eclectic space."

Stacey admires the natural wine process, which entails "little to no additives, organic or biodynamic farming, and transparency." She has no interest in pressuring people into drinking this style of wine, but she looks forward to offering DC-area residents something different from the usual wine lineup.

Where Dio can't offer natural, they highlight local makers from the DMV for spirits, ice cream, tea or coffee. They also make as much as possible in house, such as jams, pickles, cordials, shrubs, syrups, and freshly baked bread.

Dio Wine Bar (https://diowinebar.com/) is located at 904 H St NE. Hours are 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursdays, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays and 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. Hours are subject to change.
