Follow on Google News | ![]() Barclay’s Real Estate Group Hosting Tri-City Motorcycle Run to Benefit ACTBy: ABUSE COUNSELING AND TREATMENT INC The Motorcycle Run on January 9 will be more than a collection of impressive bikes, a lovely Southwest Florida morning, and a meeting place for civic-minded people interested in helping others. It will also be an opportunity for the community to gather at premier local restaurants, including Ford’s Garage in Cape Coral and Fort Myers, as well as the Red Wolf Tavern in Port Charlotte, supporting the local economy. Registration is $25 per bike and begins at 11:00 a.m. at Ford’s Garage, located at 1710 Cape Coral Pkwy. in Cape Coral, with kick stands up at 12:30 p.m. Participants will receive a special gift bag courtesy of the event sponsors, which include Red Wolf Tavern, Ford’s Garage, Entitled, LLC, Community Lending, and Marine Team Moving. “Whether you ride, attend the post-run get-together at Ford’s Garage or contribute through a donation, you can be a part of an exciting event that benefits your community and you,” said Jennifer Kalbach realtor and sales manager with Barclay’s Real Estate Group, as well as the event organizer. “We are honored to support ACT’s tireless 24/7 efforts in our community, which provide protection and dire resources to help abused women, men, and children recover from violence, rebuild self-esteem, and take steps towards an independent life,” shared Bert Parsley, broker with Barclay’s Real Estate Group, who will also be the motorcycle run captain. More than 1 in 3 women (35.6%) and more than 1 in 4 men (28.5%) in the United States have experienced rape, physical violence and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. As the only licensed and certified domestic and rape/sexual assault center in Lee County, ACT works closely with all local agencies to provide a full circle of support for all victims in need.
