DANBURY, Conn. - Dec. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Civil Air Patrol’s 399th Composite Squadron(CT-042)completed its seventh annual Wreaths Across America ceremony at two local cemeteries on December 12, to honor Danbury veterans.

As members of the public looked on, Civil Air Patrol officers and cadets, cadets from Danbury High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (CT-021), and members of other participating organizations reverently placed ninety wreaths on veterans’ graves at Wooster and Old Kenosia Cemeteries.

Captain Joseph Bisnov, commander of the 399th Composite Squadron, based in Danbury, stated, "This year, as in the past, the 399th Composite Squadron of Civil Air Patrol, had the honor to work with Wreaths Across America to lay wreaths on the graves of many veterans at the Wooster and Kenosia cemeteries. I am very proud of how our cadets handled themselves during the ceremonies."

Civil Air Patrol members nationwide have shown their appreciation to our nation’s veterans by adorning memorials and veterans’ graves with evergreen wreaths. As a key partner in Wreaths Across America, Civil Air Patrol ensures the sacrifices of our nation’s soldiers are not forgotten.

Organizations participating in the ceremonies included the Danbury Area Chapter Korean War Veterans Association, and members from the 2nd Connecticut Heavy Infantry, 11th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry and 79th New York Cameron Highlanders Volunteer Infantry Civil War reenactment units.

Captain Ralph Langham (399th Composite Squadron), organizer of the event, said the wreaths are made by the Worcester Wreath Company in Harrington, Maine and were purchased by donations from Union Savings Bank in New Fairfield, Danbury Cemetery Association, Korean War Veterans of Danbury, 11th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, and Civil Air Patrol members.

The Wreaths Across America mission — Remember, Honor, Teach — is carried out in part by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and overseas.
