Route One are a Grade Above the Rest on Listed Job

FEATHERSTONE, U.K. - Dec. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Dorset County Council appoint Route One Highways to work on the historically important grade 11 listed 16^th century Charminster Bridge as part of the Council’s flood control and drainage strategy.

Linked to causing flooding in the local area due to its small arches restricting the flow of the River Cerne, Route One were called in to waterproof the bridge during reconstruction works to make the bridge arches larger.

Under the watchful eye of English Heritage Route One’s specialist work included raising the A352 road surface over the bridge by one foot to accommodate the larger arches and waterproofing the whole bridge deck before re-surfacing works could begin.

Darryl Taylor, Commercial Manager at Route One Highways says: “To be approached by Dorset County Council is a huge compliment to our team who work hard to stand out as industry experts in this field. As you can image such an historically important structure like this meant it was in the spotlight locally for some time, however we’re pleased to say our work was completed on schedule and we even received a visit from the local primary school wanting to learn more about the restructuring works.”

Dorset County Council confirmed the work of Route One had been excellent across the board, paying particular attention to health and safety, environmental issues, and workmanship, with excellent communication on and off site.
