Kent State University’s Master of Economics Program Ranked by the Financial Engineer

Nov. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- The Financial Engineer released its 2016 Master of Economics Rankings, the most comprehensive rankings for graduate economics programs in the United States. This year, Kent State increased its ranking by about 40 spots.

“This ranking of the Master of Economics program reflects the excellent faculty and students in the program,” said Donald R. Williams, professor and chairperson for the Department of Economics at Kent State. “Such rankings are important in attracting new faculty and students to the department and will contribute to further growth in the future.”

The components of the Financial Economics rankings include:

·         30% Mean GMAT Scores

·         25% Mean Starting Salary and Bonus

·         15% Mean Undergraduate GPA

·         15% Acceptance Rate

·         10% Full Time Graduates Employed at Graduation

·         5% Full time Graduates Employed 3 Months after Graduation

The overall score for each program is the weighted average of each of the components respective score, where the weights sum up to 100%. The final scores are normalized and not rounded.

Other Ohio colleges ranked with Kent State were Cleveland State University, Youngstown State University, Ohio University, the University of Akron and Miami University.

“To move from 104th to 66th is tremendous,” said Deborah F. Spake, dean of the College of Business Administration. “The ranking pays tribute to the dedication and hard work by the Department of Economics faculty and students.”
