PODS® raises over $28,000 for American Heart Association’s Tampa Bay Heart Walk

TAMPA, Fla. - Nov. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- For the 4^th year, PODS has been dedicated to meeting fundraising goals for the American Heart Association’s Tampa Bay Heart Walk.  The Heart Walk is one of the American Heart Association’s premiere fundraising events. It promotes physical activity, a healthy lifestyle, and also raises funds that go toward saving lives from heart disease and stroke – the No. 1 and No. 5 causes of death in U.S. adults.

Led by president and CEO of PODS, John Koch, each department at PODS has been working to raise money internally. This includes hosting various fundraisers such as a bake sale, pasta lunch, a taco bar, a photo booth, a pie in the face of the executive team members, as well as individual team members raising money on their own. Koch served on the Heart Walk cabinet and also participated in the event.

“We are really proud that we were able to work with the American Heart Association again to help further their efforts in building healthier lives,” expresses Koch. “PODS works with many charitable organizations annually, but helping fight heart disease and stroke through our local American Heart Association is very important to us.”

PODS exceeded its goal this year of $23,000 by raising more than $28,000. The Tampa Bay Heart Walk grossed more than $3.9 million.
