BOULDER, Colo. - Nov. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Join us for this SI-Discussion on the Structural-Visceral Connections.  Bruce Schonfeld offers a complementary approach to visceral mobilization rooted in respectful direct technique and hands-on skills familiar to a Structural Integration Practitioner.

Fascinated by the inter-relationship between the container and its contents, Bruce has studied Structural Integration and Visceral Osteopathy since 1992. He brings kindness and ease of learning to the classroom.

He currently teaches these CE classes:

Structural-Visceral Approaches to the Low-Back, Pelvis & Abdomen

Structural-Visceral Approaches to the Mid-Back, Thorax & Diaphragm

About Bruce Schonfeld:

My practice strives to create a safe and comfortable environment for pain relief, personal growth, sustainable body realignment, and recovery. I offer preventive, orthopedic and holistic health care. My vision is meet the body on its own terms.  Our work is a collaborative process, including attention and service to your feelings, body sensations and whole person experience.  When helpful, I offer my background of studies in body based approaches collectively called somatics. These include embryological, fetal, birth, developmental, perceptual, naturalistic, and trauma related perspectives. My intention is to assist clients in their personal process of embodiment and helping them develop a deeper relationship with sensation, perception, psyche, soma, and self.  The experience can unfold as a meditation on embodiment and in many instances serves as a bridge between body, mind, and beyond.

“The body isn't making intellectual decisions based on aesthetics, politics, prejudice, or preference. The body is just doing what it’s designed to do, to help itself, the best it can”

– Bruce Schonfeld

Dr. Ida Rolf founded the work we call Structural Integration. Over the years this body of work has continued to evolve. Words like fascia, integration, alignment, core and layers are known and used in bodywork, research, exercise, movement systems, dance, sports, psychology, etc.  Her vision reaches far and has touched many.

About SIconnect Liz Stewart  Being a part of the SI community since 1991, I’ve been fortunate to learn from some remarkable people in our profession.  I was profoundly touched and moved by my 10 series and movement work and like many before me, I went on to study SI at The Guild For Structural Integration.   After graduation, I worked at GSI which gave me a chance to watch as many demo’s as possible.  I helped in the office, cleaned the classroom, took photos for classroom models, started assisting in classes and over time joined the Faculty to teach Basic Trainings.  Eventually, I left GSI faculty to be part of the larger SI community, offering CE courses on Series Review to graduates from IASI approved schools.  Preserving the legacy of our profession, moving forward, and having a place for us to connect is my inspiration for creating SIconnect.  Now you have access to teachers, products and people of interest who are helping to shape our field.  Besides being a perpetual student, with a wonderful private practice in Boulder, Colorado.  I study group dynamics and offer supervision for practitioners individually and in small groups.
