Carolina RailHawks' "Digital Billboard on Wheels"

WAKE FOREST, N.C. - Nov. 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Advertising in Motion (AiM) partnered again this soccer season with the Carolina RailHawks to promote the team by using its unique digital billboard on wheels. AiM operates a truck with three big LED signs around its sides that drives the busy thoroughfares of the Raleigh-Durham market, showing advertising messages for its clients, many of whom are trying to build traffic to their places of business and venues.

The Carolina RailHawks is an American professional soccer team based in Cary, North Carolina, United States. Founded in 2006, the team plays in the North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The team plays its home games at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary North Carolina where they have played since 2007.

According to a recent Nielsen study, 82 percent of drivers recalled advertisements from digital billboards they’d seen in the past month. The same study found consumer attitudes to be favorable to the new form of advertising, finding 72% who felt it was “a cool way to advertise” and 65% think it’s a “good way to find out about new businesses in the area.” In Wake County, NC- no new billboards can be erected on I-540, I-440, or any of the main traffic corridors due to sign ordinances. However, a mobile version is permissible and AiM is busy helping promote local businesses and teams who want more foot traffic.

Carolina RailHawks (http://www.carolinarailhawks.com/) has used the “Digital Billboard on Wheels” to promote its home games and community events which are held on site at the WakeMed Soccer Park complex. Brennan Barber, Vice President of Ticket Sales likes the digital technology that is being used and its ability to go places where traditional outdoor media doesn’t exist. “Our partnership with AiM provides us with the opportunity to expand our advertising reach and get in front of certain target audiences with a message that can be easily updated and customized”. Barber likes for the Carolina RailHawks brand to be out in front of “people on the go” reminding them to go to Home games.

Advertising in Motion, also known locally as the #ncadtruck (www.ncadtruck.com) , was founded in 2013 as an alternative to traditional outdoor advertising. Jim Graney, owner of Advertising in Motion, loves helping his customers “make impressions that last – not only on the street, but in the mind.”

The ad truck displays ads are derived from .jpg art files, so it is easy to switch out an ad using the onboard computer inside the truck. In this regard, it is far cheaper and more flexible than a traditional billboard or a modern vehicle wrap because the “wallpaper” is all digital, rather than a coating that has to be applied and removed. Changes to content can be done quickly and at no cost to the client.
