Oct. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Curtis Lockwood Reynolds, associate economics professor in Kent State’s College of Business Administration, has been honored as a Top 100 Economist for the second year in a row.

Taken from a pool of 7,801 economists worldwide, Reynolds’s publication was ranked 69th with a score of 72.32, an improvement from his previous ranking of 98th. He is ranked among other top young economists who have had a first publication released within the past five years.

The Top 100 Economist’s ranking was published on ideas.repec.org, a website designed to enhance research in Economics through the use of the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc). RePEc is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers who work to provide a database of working papers, journal articles, books and more. Authors are encouraged to register with RePEc and create an online profile including information such as their publications and additional research.

“It is gratifying to be recognized for my research and impact on the discipline of economics,” said Reynolds. “The ranking includes thousands of young economists and it is an honor to be listed among the best. The college has been very supportive of my research efforts and I hope to continue to produce impactful and high-quality research. I also hope to encourage students to be more involved in research at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.”

Reynolds earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2007. His teaching and research interests include economics, labor economics, public economics and the economics of education. Reynolds teaches Principles of Microeconomics and the Economics of Labor Markets, as well as Managerial Economics for the MBA program. Additionally, Reynolds is a four-time recipient of the Outstanding MBA Professor Award and has been recognized with the college’s Teaching Excellence Award.
