Follow on Google News | Kicked It In Heels 4th Annual Benefit with Mc Lyte!!We are happy to announce that the Kicked It In Heels 4th Annual Fundraiser will be held on Thursday October 22, 2015. This celebration will be held at Tao Lounge Downtown from 7-10 pm and will include an open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. This year our theme is to embrace diversity and we will honor; Byron Kirkland; a male breast cancer survivor and Grace Paeck; a young woman diagnosed with breast cancer in her twenties. MC Lyte lyricist, inspirational speaker, dj, pioneer, icon, entrepreneur, one of the most well-respected female hip-hop artists of all time, will graciously host and spin for the event. All proceeds raised during the 2015 Kicked It In Heels Benefit will support our mission, which is to further the end of health care disparities in breast cancer by focusing on breast cancer survivors, specifically women of color and young women, providing basic information on screening and survivors’ experiences as they transition. After diagnosis, we are encouraging lifestyle adjustments, dialogue, and offering navigational services and workshops focused on fitness, beauty and wellness. Kicked It In Heels plans to offer funds toward reconstruction, counseling, prosthesis, bras, wigs, the fundamentals women need as they move toward survivorship. This year our programs include; work with the Witness Project and Mount Sinai’s School of Medicine to survey women of color in Harlem and East Harlem about their knowledge of breast density. We are also working with North Shore LIJ- Lenox Hill Hospital to promote screening through beauty inspired initiatives. http://www.eventbrite.com/ Tickets are $150 and Kicked It In Heels is a 501c3 organization so your contributions and donations are tax deductible. We plan to have a good time celebrating survivors and hope that you can attend. Thank you so much for your support! End
